The cello is a Level II Stohr Illner Riedl (SIR). It was crafted in West Germany in 1984, purchased in 1986, and played from 1986-1988 in a small orchestra. The instrument and bow have been kept in the proper environment (temp and humidity) and are both in excellent condition. I am the second owner, Dan Foster being the first. It has a beautiful and even tone and sound. There is a lovely moderate flaming on the back and ribs and the color is a rich red-brown.
The bow is a Wilhelm Raum with opal accents, and is in very good condition.
All four strings are Larsen Soloist.
The stand is an Ingles Adjustable Folding Cello Stand.
The case cost $600 new, the stand $50 and the strings $200. I purchased the cello from Dan Foster for $3200.
