The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide general leadership and administrative oversight for the non-credit courses and programs, contract training, conference services and the Hagerstown Valley Mall extension site. The non-credit curricula includes customized training, life-long learning, certification and licensure courses and programs, as well as community service programs for young persons, senior citizens, and those incarcerated in local prisons. A major focus of this position is to maintain a high level of responsiveness to the education and training needs of local employers and community groups not seeking traditional credit bearing course offerings.<br>

Education and Experience  Masters degree required, doctoral degree preferred, with 5 to 7 years administration / business experience and at least three (3) years of experience at the management / leadership level. Experience working with the business community in developing programs is essential. This position also requires demonstrated expertise in establishing goals, structures and processes necessary to provide a comprehensive continuing education program. Excellent communication skills are required along with documented collaboration, coaching and teambuilding skills necessary to strengthen staff and cultivate quality relationships within the business community. The position requires extensive entrepreneurial skills, including the ability to analyze marketing needs and develop a marketing strategy for continuing education and community services. Knowledge of the demographics of the region and familiarity with Maryland Community College regulations is desired, but not required.<br>

Skills and Abilities - The Dean of Continuing Education and Community Services must have outstanding interpersonal skills and possess a broad educational and service vision; strong supervisory and management skills; strong oral and written communication skills; competence with administering grants and direct grant writing; ability to represent the College well in the community and the State; excellent interpersonal skills; and strong computer skills. <br>

Additional responsibilities will include handling family relations, ensuring the implementation of curriculum, tuition collection and demonstrating effective problem solving methods relating to center goals. <br>

Responsibilities related to this position: <br>
 Know and implement the State of Virginia Child Care Licensing Standards as they apply to the daily operation of the center. <br>
 Know and implement company policies and procedures as presented in the Parent Handbook and Operations Manual. <br>
 Maintain records that pertain to the administration of the childcare center in accordance with applicable Virginia state laws and company policies. <br>
 Supervise the implementation of company's educational program for all classes <br>
 Set goals for center to improve program quality, provide leadership in meeting goals, and evaluate effectiveness in meeting and achieving goals. <br>
 Computer skills including Microsoft Office. <br>
 Hire staff which has the appropriate education and experience to meet the physical, emotional, social, and learning needs of the child <br>
<br>
Ideal candidates will have <br>
 A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, <br>
 Must have at least 3 years proven experience as a center director working with young children. <br>
 Strong management and organizational skills <br>
 Directors credentials in the state of Virginia <br>
 Ability to multi-task market and have a proven track record to grow a business. <br>
