Part-Time NCLEX Instructors
We are currently looking for outgoing, dynamic nurse educators who are passionate about helping new nursing graduates succeed on their NCLEX exam.
A Masters in Nursing (or work towards one) is required.
Classes are held in our centers as well as throughout the community. Those willing to travel must have access to transportation (mileage compensated in line with prevailing policy).
No teaching experience is necessary (although it is preferred). We will train you to be a great instructor.
You should be a great presenter, a believer in the effectiveness of Kaplans methods, a caring and compassionate mentor of students, and a responsible employee.
If your scores are more than five years old, you may take a qualifying test at any Kaplan center.

Education and Experience - Master's degree in psychology required, doctorate preferred. Also required is a minimum or two to three years of college-level teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and academic preparation in the areas of Developmental Psychology, Lifespan Human Development, and Abnormal Psychology. Must have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and cultural competence through the use of multicultural pedagogy.
Skills and Abilities - Experience in the use of technology in teaching for classroom and distance learning; experience communicating with a diverse student population both in and outside the classroom; ability to work as a team player with divisional colleagues a must; writing skills for course development and assessment a plus.
Education and Experience Masters degree required, doctoral degree preferred, with 5 to 7 years administration / business experience and at least three (3) years of experience at the management / leadership level. Experience working with the business community in developing programs is essential. This position also requires demonstrated expertise in establishing goals, structures and processes necessary to provide a comprehensive continuing education program. Excellent communication skills are required along with documented collaboration, coaching and teambuilding skills necessary to strengthen staff and cultivate quality relationships within the business community. The position requires extensive entrepreneurial skills, including the ability to analyze marketing needs and develop a marketing strategy for continuing education and community services. Knowledge of the demographics of the region and familiarity with Maryland Community College regulations is desired, but not required.
Skills and Abilities - The Dean of Continuing Education and Community Services must have outstanding interpersonal skills and possess a broad educational and service vision; strong supervisory and management skills; strong oral and written communication skills; competence with administering grants and direct grant writing; ability to represent the College well in the community and the State; excellent interpersonal skills; and strong computer skills.
